"Let thy food be thy medicine and thy medicine be thy food."--Hippocrates.

Updated: May 30, 2019

Most of our diseases are afflicted with what we eat, what we think. For TCM, the liver is not just an organ but the charger of a woman's blood, which is related to menstruation, breast, what's more, emotion, fertility, etc. As the rule of five elements of TCM, wood, fire, earth, metal, water, which wood represents the function of liver and gall bladder, if the sickness of liver keeps progress, it'll infringe to the spleen and stomach, which are belonged to the earth of five elements. That's why at the beginning of the liver disease, you feel tired easily, eyes uncomforted, bitter tastes in the mouth, lose temper in short time, then if not stop the route of the process, you start feeling your stomachache, hyperacid, bloating, or a big change of your appetite. When those symptoms occur, then the state of the illness already encroaches to your digestive system. Dr. Sun Shi-Miau, Tang Dynasty, in his book, "Chian Jing Yau Fang" mentioned, "Top notch physician treats before illness started; average physician treats impending illness started; mediocre physician treats the illness before there." That's our goal to help patients stop the disease before it happens or intercept the route of the disease.
