The patient of years of eczema on both elbows suffered from skin itchy and off.
Mainly came for allergic rhinitis since he was small, after acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine treatment, his situation is under well controlled from allergy in a single morning to almost none. In TCM point of view, "lung governing skin and hair", therefore, his skin reflects the heat in the lung, which we focus on clearing the heat and strengthen his digestive system as he had constipation as well. If you learn TCM, that's called earth(stomach, spleen) generates metal(lung, big intestine).
Here’s the definition of eczema in dermatitis explanation as reference:
Chronic eczema: multiple episodes of acute and subacute eczema have evolved and become chronic inflammation. The skin of the affected area thickens and becomes dark red and pigmented. When lasting, the skin lesions are thick and dry and easy to chapped. It is common in crus, hand, foot, elbow, vulva, anus and so on.
